CUÉNTAME UN CUENTO, Celtas Cortos
.jpg)
Do you remeber this song played by CELTAS CORTOS? (If you want to listen to it click on their official site CELTAS CORTOS) It talks about the tales we are told before going to bed. Sharing books is a great way to help our children learn to read and write and to make them become future readers as well. Sharing stories is a bridge between speaking and reading that begins in infancy and continues throughout childhood. Together, sharing books and sharing stories are powerful ways to encourage children’s emerging literacy. Would you like to read some stories together with your children? Visit the webpage The storyteller and the webquest CUENTAME UN CUENTO, you will find different stories to explain. Children will enjoy them for sure!!domingo, 6 de abril de 2008
SPRINGTIME & APRIL SONGS
Be creative. Imagine the music for these songs and sing them to your friends.
Springtime
On a big brown log;
A black and yellow bee
In a little green tree;
A red and yellow snake
By a blue-green lake,
All sat and listened
To red bird sing,
"Wake up, everybody,
April
The roofs are shining from the rain,
The sparrows twitter as they fly,
And with a windy April grace
The little clouds go by.
Yet the backyards are bare and brown
With only one unchanging tree--
I could not be so sure of Spring
Save that it sings in me.

LEARN ENGLISH BY SINGING SONGS
You can watch the video while reading the songs lyrics. There are plenty to choose from. Here you've got a sample: Eternal flame by The Bangles, one of our favourite ones.
ETERNAL FLAME by Atomic Kitten / The Bangles
Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling.
Do you feel my heart beating? Do you understand?
Do you feel the same?
Am I only dreaming? Or is this burning An eternal flame?
I believe it's meant to be, darling.
I watch you when you are sleeping.
You belong to me. Do you feel the same?
Am I only dreaming? Or is this burning An eternal flame?
Say my name.
Sun shines through the rain Of all life, so lonely And come and ease the pain. I don't wanna lose this feeling.
Oh... Say my name.
Sun shines through the rain Of all life, so lonely And come and ease the pain.
I don't wanna lose this feeling.
Oh... Repeat first verse.

ST PATRICK'S DAY
There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by
No pipes did hum nor battle drum did sound its loud tatoo
But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey swell rang out in the foggy dew
Right proudly high over Dublin Town they hung out the flag of war
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky than at Sulva or Sud El Bar
And from the plains of Royal Meath strong men came hurrying through
While Britannia's Huns, with their long range guns sailed in through the foggy dew
'Twas Britannia bade our Wild Geese go that small nations might be free
But their lonely graves are by Sulva's waves or the shore of the Great North Sea
Oh, had they died by Pearse's side or fought with Cathal Brugha
Their names we will keep where the fenians sleep 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew
But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Eastertide in the springing of the year
And the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those fearless men, but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light might shine through the foggy dew
Ah, back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more
But to and fro in my dreams I go and I'd kneel and pray for you,
For slavery fled, O glorious dead, When you fell in the foggy dew.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: THE BOSS
